BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Team of Mountain Province (MP) conducted a one-day convergence meeting for the presentation and enrichment of the formulated barangay development plans (BDPs) for CY 2025-2027 of the RCSP target barangays in MP at the Myrna’s Hall, Samoki on October 2, 2024.
The RCSP was formerly known as the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC). In compliance with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No 2023-46, the PTF-ELCAC was renamed to RSCP last March 21, 2024.
There are a total of 17 barangays covered under the RCSP for 2024. These barangays include Alab Proper, Balili, Bayyo, Maligcong, and Talubin in the municipality of Bontoc; Bun-ayan, Camatagan, Lagan, Losad, Poblacion, and Tambingan in Sabangan; Antadao, Kilong, Tetep-an Norte, and Tetep-an Sur in Sagada; and Maducayan and Saliok in Natonin.
Provincial Director Evelyn B. Trinidad of the Department of Interior and Local Government explained that the convergence meeting aims to present the various proposes projects, program and activities (PPAs) of the 17 RCSP barangays which were reflected in their formulated BDPs and also to look into which area can the various local government units and national line agencies can provide support to.
In addition, RCSP Secretariat Head Angel B. Baybay, representing RCSP Chair and Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., encouraged the active participation of all the RCSP members, emphasizing that their support is crucial to the realization of the PPAs.
Meanwhile, representatives from the municipal planning and development offices of Bontoc, Sabangan, Sagada, and Natonin took the lead in the presentations of the BDPs. Most of the PPAs presented were on infrastructure projects like construction and/or improvement of roads and buildings, drainages, and irrigations among others. Other projects were on training and procurement of various equipment.
In closing, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Daniel K. Likigan lauded the active participation of all the attendees and thanked them for their support. By Hail, MP
