PARACELIS, Mountain Province – The 14th Provincial Barangay Health Worker (BHW) Summit successfully concluded in the eastern Mountain Province with the full distribution of cash incentives to BHWs in the Mountain Province.
The cash incentive for BHWs is a part of the Barangay Muna Program of Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., designed to acknowledge and reward the vital role BHWs play in promoting public health within their barangays.
The summit was launched last March 17, 2025, at the Governor Leonard G. Mayean Sports Center, in which 358 BHWs from the municipalities of Bontoc, Barlig, Sadanga, and Sabangan received their 2,500-peso cash incentives from the Provincial Government. The second leg of the summit, targeting the municipalities of Sagada and Besao, was held last March 19, 2025, at the Sagada Municipal Ground. Two days later, the summit pushed through with its third led on March 21, 2025, at the Bauko Municipal Open Gym, where 357 BHWs and 334 barangay nutrition scholars (BNSs) respectively received their cash incentives and 100-peso travel allowance.
Earlier today, March 25, 2025, the Provincial Government accomplished 100% of its BHW payout at the barangay hall compound of Poblacion, Paracelis, wherein the last batch of beneficiaries, which include 144 BHWs in Paracelis and 81 in Natonin, received their cash incentives and insurance card. In addition, 64 barangay nutrition scholars (BNS) from Paracelis and 17 from Natonin also received their travel allowances.
Meanwhile, leading the Provincial Government during the summit were Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., Vice Governor Francis O. Tauli, and Board Members Ezra Samson A. Gomez and Joshua B.Fronda.
