BONTOC, Mountain Province – The provincial government through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), conducting a two-day training for PDRRMC members at Xhuayan Hall, Fesway Bldg., Eyeb, Poblacion, Bontoc from June 4 to 5, 2025.
According to Training Coordinator and PDRRMO staff Yaser Vincent Soria, forty members of the PDRRMC from various offices and agencies will be undergoing this two-day training program, which seeks to enhance participants’ communication capabilities during disaster situations by promoting timely and coordinated responses through the proficient use of radio systems and standardized communication protocols.
“We are excited to have Engr. Maximo Barawid Jr. and Engr. Mark Kelvin Illustrado from the Cordillera office of the DICT, and Aldreen Dumasig from DICT-Mt. Province as our trainers,” Soria said.
Finally, Executive Assistant Ernesto Bondad, representing Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., in his message during the opening program, encouraged everyone to take advantage of the training and develop our disaster resiliency through radio.
“Governor Lacwasan recognizes the importance of the PDRRMC, especially in times of disaster, and we will continue to provide this kind of training to empower our council members, capacitate our disaster managers and hopefully save more lives,” Bondad said. By MP-PIO
