BONTOC, Mountain Province – Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. and Board Member Henry D. Bastian, Jr. led the distributions of financial aid from the Provincial Government to four disaster victims during separate occasions in Sabangan and Bauko on May 7, 2024.
The amount of PhP10,000 each was handed over to Cleto Moga and Johnny Langgato of Tambingan, Sabangan and Elvin Sigang of Bagnen Oriente, Bauko, whose respective residential houses were razed to the ground due to fire incidents. Leticia Sad-en of Poblacion, Bauko, whose residential house was partially damaged due to a boulder of rock caused by a recent earthquake, also received cash assistance of PhP5,000.
The turnover of the assistance was witnessed by Executive Assistant Winston V. Calde, Social Welfare Officer Victoria P. Tabora, Social Welfare Officer Grail L. Patiogo and the respective barangay officials of the victims.
In his message, Governor Lacwasan said that the assistance is under the “Barangay Muna” Program of the provincial government, which aims to assist families or individuals in rebuilding their lives in times of crisis or calamity.
Board Member Bastian joined the governor in expressing his empathy to victims and assured the continuous support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to the banner program of the Governor to assure that the services of the government will be felt in the grassroots of the society.
Moreover, Executive Assistant Calde told the barangay officials present to help remind their constituents on the importance of reporting any property damage/s during disasters or emergencies and the submission of the report/s to the different local government units to seek government assistance or avail from government programs.
