BONTOC , Mountain Province – Uniform T-shirts were given to Child Development Workers in the province in recognition of their effort and determination as frontlines in handling and educating children.
The Provincial Government of Mountain Province through its Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) responded to the request of the Provincial Federation of Day Care Workers for a uniform for them to use during provincial and municipal activities that require their participation such as parades, convention and forums for Day Care workers and Flag Raising Ceremonies.
Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr. believes that having a uniform will also boost the identity and self-confidence of the Child Development Workers which is important and of great help in their determination to perform best in their jobs. With this, P165,000 was allotted for the purchase of their uniforms.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rosalinda T. Belagan said that the first batch were the 30 Child Development Worker recipients in Bontoc who received their in-kind incentives from the governor on September 27,2016. During the turn-over, Lacwasan thanked the Child Development workers for being the second mothers to the children, unselfishly sharing their knowledge and taking good care of their wards.
For the other municipalities, the T-shirt figures are as follows: Natonin -31, Sabangan -24, Tadian -34, Barlig- 15, Sadanga-13, Besao-19, Sagada-22, Bauko-55 and Paracelis -52.
Meanwhile, the provincial government also gives honorarium augmentation of P2,500 to every to accredited Child Development Workers in the province every year.
