BAUKO, Mountain Province – Just in time for the season of the hearts, the provincial government distributed assistive devices to 11 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in this municipality on February 14, 2025.
The devices were personally turned over to the beneficiaries by the province’s First Lady Jonaliza S. Lacwasan, representing Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., together with Administrative Aide Ruth P. Conge from the Office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, and administrative aides Rose Marie K. Sinadcop, Lovely Hariet Claire P. Calag, and Fevie-Ann B. Ridao from the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO). They were accompanied by barangay officials and personnel from the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO) of Bauko.
The distributed devices include four wheelchairs, two crouches, two single canes, two walkers, one commode chair and one quad cane. In addition, foldable canes were given to two beneficiaries from Sadsadan Proper and Guinzadan Sur. These foldable canes are donations from Governor Lacwasan.
Meanwhile, Mannapack Rice were also distributed to the all beneficiaries.
As part of the distribution, the team from the provincial government gave a brief orientation to the relatives of the beneficiaries about the other programs of PDAO and provincial government. They also discussed the necessary requirements to be submitted when requesting assistive devices from the provincial government which are request letter and medical certificate.
In case they need medicines for the maintenance of their family member, they are required to submit a request letter and attach a photocopy of prescriptions from the doctor.
Lastly, Sinadcop oriented the beneficiaries and their relatives on the importance of securing a Senior Citizens ID and PDAO ID, besides the booklet which they receive as requirements for the discounts for fare, medicine, and others.
In gratitude, the beneficiaries, their family members, barangay officials and MSWDO personnel expressed their gratitude to the Provincial Government for its continuous support to PWDs. By MP-PIO via TFF
