BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Lang-ay Festival Committee comprised of representatives from the provincial government and from the national line agencies and private organizations met at the old Provincial Treasury Office on 6 January 2025, to finalize the schedule of activities for the18th Lang-ay Festival and 58th Founding Anniversary that is set to take place in April this year.
The festival’s objectives, as outlined by Provincial Planning and Events Management Team (PPEMT) Co-Chairperson Leonila Milagrose F. Malla-ao, center on showcasing and preserving Mountain Province’s rich culture, traditions, history, and products, ensuring their transmission to future generations.
“The festival will continue to provide a platform for our people to come together as one people to celebrate our shared heritage and identity, strengthening our sense of belongingness, and community pride. The events will also help boost local economy,” Malla-ao said.
This year’s theme, announced by PPEMT Chairperson John K. Likigan, is “MP@58: Honoring Traditions and Reaching Greater Heights.”
Likigan also extended the provincial government’s invitation to interested parties who wish to participate in the activities. He said that they have until the end of January to submit their proposals for committee approval. By Hail, MP
