Mountain Province – The provincial government started giving cash incentives to the Mountain Province medalists and their coaches who participated in this year’s Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA).
Provincial Sports and Development Coordinator Nicasio Calde explained that the provision of cash incentives is pursuant to the Provincial Ordinance No. 351 which is an ordinance providing cash prizes to deserving delegates who garnered medals to any regional, national, and international sponsored competitions.
As stated in the ordinance, each medalist received PhP 3,000 for every gold medal, PhP 2,000 for every silver medal, and PhP 1,000 for every bronze medal. Moreover, the coaches received PhP 1,500 for every gold medal, PhP 1,000 for every silver medal, and PhP 500 for every bronze medal.
Meanwhile, Calde relayed his and Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr.’s congratulations and appreciation to the athletes for their athletic accomplishment and for proudly representing the province in the said regional sport event.

Layden nan si Governor ay dakami mismo nan mangiyali sinan nay da incentives ken dakayo ta sigurado ay maawat yo,” Calde said.
The distribution of the cash incentives started earlier today in the different national high schools and elementary schools in Bontoc and Sadanga and will continue to the other municipalities at a later date.
