BONTOC, Mountain Province – Three centenarians from the municipalities of Sagada and Bauko received their recognition from the provincial government on March 6, 2025.
The three 100-year-old centenarians are Alipio Latawan Boto-og from Tanulong, Sagada, who will be turning 101 years old this coming March 9, 2025, Christina Balong-angey Bomal-o from Taccong, Sagada, and Lagpita Adag Bangguigui from Lagawa, Bauko. They were recognized as centenarians upon the recommendation of the Provincial Centenarian Committee and the Committee on Women, Senior Citizens, Differently-abled and Family Relations.
A 50,000-peso cash incentive, plaque of recognition, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan resolution were awarded to the three centenarians personally by Mountain Province First Lady Jonaliza S. Lacwasan, representing Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., Board Member Ricardo M. Masidong, Jr., Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (SWDO) Jackielyn O. Guitangan, and Provincial Treasurer Rafael L. Lingbanan, Jr. Under Provincial Ordinance No. 545, s. 2024, the cash incentives were raised to 50,000 pesos this year.
In their respective messages, Lacwasan, Masidong and Guitangan were one in expressing their advance and belated birthday wishes to the centenarians. They said that their achieved milestone is an inspiration for a long and healthy life.
Meanwhile, in addition to the cash incentives from the provincial government, the centenarian from Taccong also received a check worth 10,000 pesos as recognition from the municipal government of Sagada. Her incentive was given to them by Sagada Municipal SWDO Marites Lawagey. By MP-PIO
