BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO), together with the Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (PAGPTD), kickstarted the three-day interventional marksmanship challenge-for-a-cause event on January 3, 2024.
The activity, “Bang Before the Ban,” is held at the Montañosa Shooting Range in Faniyas, Samoki until January 5, 2025.
According to Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (MPPPO) Provincial Director, Police Colonel Ferdinand N. Oydoc, the proceeds generated from the event will be used for the purchase and installation of CCTV cameras in strategically chosen locations throughout Mountain Province.
In appreciation of the initiative, he lauded the cooperation and strong support of all – the MPPPO workforce, the PAGPTD chaired by National Police Commission Provincial Officer Agosto C. Liban and other stakeholders.
Furthermore, he said that the installation of CCTVs will play a crucial role in improving crime prevention, detection, and investigation efforts, therefore, significantly bolstering public safety and security within the province.
In addition, Police Lieutenant Colonel Roy T. Awisan, the chief of the Provincial Investigation and Detection Management of the MPPPO, pointed out in his opening statement that the fun shoot not only aims to raise fund but it also aims to demonstrate that community safety is a shared responsibility of all stakeholders of the province.
“I encourage all participants to enjoy the friendly competition and may the best team prevail. Let us make this fun shoot, a resounding success and a testament to the strong partnership between the PNP and our community,” Awisan further said as encouragement to all the participants.
The MPPPO family were one in thanking all who worked for the realization of the shoot fest, particularly all the sponsoring entities.
The total proceeds and the winners of the shoot for a cause will be announced during a Flag Raising Ceremony cum Monday Program to be held at Camp Geronimo Montes soon. In addition to the awarding ceremony, the raffle draw for the tickets sold during the said activity will be held.
Meanwhile, to give a first-hand experience to guests and the PAGPTD members as partners in the implementation of projects, programs and activities of the police force in the province, they joined the MPPPO in the ceremonial shoot to jumpstart the friendly competition. By Hail, MP
