BONTOC, Mountain Province – Fifty-four trainees registered under the Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) successfully finished their Training Induction Program (TIP) and skills training orientation.
The TIP and orientation was successfully held at the Multi-Purpose Hall on January 6, 2025 through the collective effort of the provincial government, TESDA, and the Mountain Province Association of Technical Vocational Institutions (MPATVI) with the active participation of the trainees enrolled for the cookery training of Khai’s Training Center and the Mountain Province State University (MPSU) and under the trainers methodology training of the Northland Training Institute.
According to TESDA Provincial Office Acting Provincial Director Melita D. Pinic and MPATVI President Winifred Cue, the TIP is counted as a part of their training us it serves as an avenue to inform the trainees on the rules and other reminders they need to keep in mind while undergoing their respective training and also to give answers to questions and address concerns raised by the trainees.
Meanwhile, Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. graced the TIP and orientation through his respective Executive Assistant George B. Lumiwes. In his message, Lumiwes relayed the governor’s encouragement to the participants, urging them to finish their training and use it as a future investment which they can use as a livelihood to provide for their personal and family’s need.
Moreover, Lumiwes pointed out that it is by finishing the training will the trainees will be able to give justice to the effort of the different local officials of the province in sourcing out funds to be used for the trainings.
Also, Karen B. Cue, the Executive Dean of MPSU’s School of International Hospitality and Sustainable Tourism Management, graced the TIP on behalf of MPSU President Edgar G. Cue. She emphasized that the skills that the trainees will acquire in their respective training will not only enhance their employability, but it will also equip them with the tools that are necessary to thrive in the increasingly competitive world of marketing.
