BONTOC, Mountain Province – To enhance the capabilities of municipal local government planners and agriculture extension workers in information technology, the provincial government though its Mountain Province Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Center (MPAFEC) conducted a training on Microsoft excel using visual basics at the Archog’s Hotel and Restaurant on July 31, 2024- August 2, 2024.
The activity is one of the continuous training courses of the MPAFEC funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) to strengthen agricultural services in the province. The training was conducted in partnership with the Management Information System (MIS) Unit of the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC).
During the opening program, Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. represented by Executive Assistant Ernesto Bondad said that the training is timely because there is a need to enhance the knowledge, skills and potentials of government workers in information technology for them to be able to adopt to the changing world.
Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System PMG Chair Daniel K. Likigan and MPAFEC Support Staff Head Mary Jane S. Tumapang urged the participants to take the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Meanwhile, Mountain Province Agriculture Programs Coordinating Officer Pedro C. Pinos-an said that DA-Regional Field Office-CAR will continue to work with the provincial government to further improve and develop agriculture in the province.
Moreover, MIS Director Christian C. Sumeg-ang of the MPSPC Information Technology Department was the resources speaker and trainer for the whole duration of the activity.
Among the topics that were presented and discussed include excel macros, excel VBA concepts, preparation and formatting multiple worksheets, among others.
According to Sumeg-ang, among the importance of Microsoft excel in the office setting includes efficient data management, simplifying communication insights and increasing the office or the organization’s efficiency in making reports.
During the closing program, Provincial Veterinarian and MPAFEC in-charge Rodelio B. Bagawi said that activity is among the series of trainings aligned for this year to further capacitate the agriculture extension workers of the province and is a continuation of last year’s series of trainings.
