BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Mountain Province (MP) provincial government is one with the whole nation in showing care and support for men in celebration of the Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month this month of June.
During the Monday Program on June 23, 2025, the Provincial Health Office Mental Health Coordinator, Eleanor Batnag, pointed out that men are also susceptible to mental health illnesses such as depression, anxiety, and stress, among others, despite the societal expectation that men are emotionally resilient and less affected by such conditions.
Therefore, Batnag solicited the active involvement of everyone in breaking the stigma by showing care for men and making them feel supported by reaching out, creating a safe space for them, and encouraging them to seek help.
She emphasized that reaching out with a simple but sincere “Kamusta ka?” and listening without judgment can help create a safe space for men, where they feel seen and are reminded that they are not alone.
Meanwhile, in addition to men’s mental health, the Provincial Government also showed its advocacy and support for responsible parenthood and family planning through continuous learning, and environmental protection through tree planting activities. By MP-PIO
