FLORA, Apayao – The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Flora on Friday, Dec. 6 trained 32 members of the Women’s Association on Basic Bookkeeping.
The 32 participants come from all barangays, 2 representatives each from the 16 barangays in town.
Said training was held at the LGU Municipal conference hall, with PSWDO personnel serving as resource speakers.
In an interview, MSWDO Iris Venus Sana said the provision of training was crucial to help the participants succeed in their business and livelihood ventures as it develops in them accurate budgeting, organized records of expenditures and income, proper reporting, setting and monitoring business goals, compliance with government regulations, and expansion of learning opportunities.
SWA Premadona C. Salazar, in her lecture, discussed the significance of financial literacy, saying proper recording is needed when one desires to engage in income generating activities. She emphasized that it is a must to possess an in-depth understanding of Basic Bookkeeping to hone negotiation skills and make informed decisions.
This 2024, said 32 women were the first batch to benefit from such training.
Meanwhile, participants in the training expressed thanks for the lectures provided.
Flora Mayor Rodolfo B. Juan, for his part, has always been supportive to various trainings for women in the municipality, especially to those who have been doing business – helping their families and becoming contributors for economic sustainability.
In his previous statements, Juan said trainings for women are necessary to enhance their potential, making them have a wider market and more networks. By Arjay Baysa
