BAGUIO CITY — The launching of the Multidisciplinary Clinic for Rare Diseases and Down Syndrome Medical Caravan went on smoothly with both the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) and Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) collaborating.
With the themes “Suportahan natin ang isa’t isa! Sama-sama Tayong Bumuo ng Komunidad na Inklusibo Para sa Lahat,” for the National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month and “More Than You Imagine” for the National Rare Disease Week, the medical caravan boasted different medical services to accommodate different concerns on March 04 at Hotel Tugos along Naguilian Road.
The program began with a registration for both the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center and Persons with Disability Affairs Office before being welcomed by Dr. Aquino and Dr. Virginia Narciso, the Local Health Support Division of the Cordillera office of the Department of Health-Center of Health Development.
Afterward, an oath taking of the Baguio City Down Syndrome Association officially took place that excited the stakeholders.
Ang dami pala nila rito sa Baguio,” Lea Sia, a parent of a child with down syndrome, said.
Building community and exuding constant compassion, the Multidisciplinary Clinic launching opened its doors to new heights — one filled with acceptance and medical assistance. By Dessa Joi Peralta
