Mankayan, Benguet- The Mankayan Women’s Association (WMA) convened the Women’s Congress on March 12 as part of Mankayan’s 106th Founding Anniversary Celebration with the theme “We make Change, Work for Women.”
The highlight of the affair was the Zumba (Hataw) Competition with women from barangay Sapid ending as champions, followed by the Poblacion women, while the Paco Women were awarded third place. The top three winners received P5, 000, P 4,000 and P 3,000 respectively. The remaining 9 groups from the different barangays received consolation prizes of P 2,000 each.
The affair ended through a reminder from the WMA President, Jane Awisan that “Your Zumba exercises should not stop because the competition ended. Continue what you started for it has several benefits, one of which is balik-alindog.”
