BAGUIO CITY – My Desk caught Kuya Ponz on a bad day last Sunday, September 10, 2017, at the YMCA Gym, here, and got to increase their lead to 3-0 in Bracket C of the YMCA Basketball tournament
My Desk got off a stunning start and erect a ten point lead in the first canto of play 28-18 to kick off the game. Lyle Singalaoa poured in eighteen big points as they steadily controlled the pace of the game and kept pouring in the baskets through their offensive strategy.
Kuya Ponz mnaged to slow down the pace in the second canto of play and took a one-point edge, 14-13, that lessened the lead to nine, 41-32, at the end of the second canto.
The third canto action again saw My Desk stepping up the tempo and pouring in the baskets to take a 22-19 scoring advantage to jack up their lead up twelve points at the end of the third, 63-51.
Sensing victory as the fourth canto action started, My Desk managed to hold off Kuya Ponz’ more exerted effort to get back in the game, and match them basket for basket to hold on to their lead on a 20-18 run that end the game with a fourteen point lead ,83-69, and the bracket C eliminations lead.
Kuya Ponz’ Mark Macaraeg held the flag for his team and keep them tailing My Desk.
Meanwhile, Bracket A’s Spears also suffered a loss against Areved’s in their match up last Monday, September 11, 2017, an 80-63. Spears and Areved’s share a 2-1 win-loss card and aim to challenge BGH-EMPC’s 4-0 win-loss card in the leader board.
Other winners in last Sunday’s games were; Knights 87 – Stallion 82, MTH-Baguio 84 – Inatech 72, Comelec 91 – BGH-EMPC 98, and Organo Gold 84 – Exercitus Dei 82.
