TABUK CITY, Kalinga -To improve its agricultural repute, an agri-barangay like Nambucayan, notable for growing corn, bananas, coffee and other agri-products, needs efficient farm-to-market roads and off-ramp roads.
Farmers have benefited from the recently completed road networks connecting Nambucayan, Guilayon, and Magnao which the city government wants to contribute to by starting the concreting of all puroks in the barangay.
The purok that leads to the first phase completed a multipurpose hall and other residential areas was awarded a budget allocation of P1.3 million in July of 2021.
The city government committed P20 million from the city’s supplemental budget to continue the same in 2022, with the goal of completing all puroks roads by the end of the year.
According to a local, these upgrades will not only benefit their agri-business and tourism, but will also motivate drivers and transportation companies to develop a route that passes through their area. “Saan met amin ket adda iti personal na a lugan isu nga sa pay kuma ta maenggganyo dagituy kailyan tayo nga agpasada inaldaw ta mayat metten iti kalsada tayo ditoy,” she added.
