BAGUIO CITY – The Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines , Inc. (ALSWDOPI) will conduct its 22nd LSWDOs National Welfare and Development Forum and General Assembly on April 17 – 20, 2018 at the Crown Legacy Hotel, here.
With the theme, “Globalization: The Changing Local Social Welfare and Development Landscape in the Philippines”, around one thousand participants from all over the archipelago are expected to join the four-day event.
City social welfare and development officer and the association’s national president Betty Fangasan said the gathering is an opportune time to bring together local government unit social workers throughout the county to explore the latest in global developments.
“This will also allow association members to have a common direction in social welfare and development,” she added.
For his part, Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the city is honored to be chosen as venue for such a prestigious event and hopes that the delegates will have a memorable, enjoyable and safe stay in the Summer Capital.
He said this shows that Baguio deserves to be known as the “Convention Center North of Manila” since it continuous to be a favorite venue for conventions, seminars, meetings and other important gatherings.
The city recently hosted the Tertiary School Publication Advisers Association-Cordillera Administrative Region (TSPAA-CAR) 17th Luzon-wide Higher Education Press Conference with the theme, “No Filter: Averting False Media through Ethical Journalism”, at Hotel Supreme from February 28 to March 2 where the Mayor delivered the welcome remarks.
