BAGUIO CITY – The Cordillera National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA-CAR) conducted a two-day in-house training on storytelling through audiovisual media for its management and staff on August 24-25, 2023. Resource persons from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA-CAR) shared their practical knowledge and skills derived from their experiences on the ground.
The activity demonstrated the directive from NEDA Regional Office Dir. Susan A. Sumbeling to capacitate and enhance the skills of the staff on scriptwriting and audiovisual media platforms as a tool in the development of information and advocacy.
The presentations and workshops focused on how the NEDA will develop a more meaningful and effective report through an audiovisual format.
With the heightened role of social media, Ms. Jamie Malingan discussed the basic concepts of its emergence and growing importance in disseminating information to the public. Ms. Debbie Gasingan shared the best practices in preparing AVPs and short video clips for broadcast reporting through TV and online platforms.
Mr. Redjie Cawis presented the basic concepts and practical tips on photography, videography, and basic video editing. Practical application workshops brought forth knowledge exchange from actual experiences and institutional practice from resource persons and participants. By Saturnino S. Gines
