The Cordillera National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA-CAR) headed by Dir. Susan A. Sumbeling joined the 72nd Anniversary Celebration of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-CAR on 10 March 2023. The NEDA-CAR received the Iyaman Award for its unwavering support and outstanding contribution to the successful implementation of the latter’s social development programs and services.
Director Sumbeling congratulated all the “Angels in Red Vests” as they stood fast in helping the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged in the region. The angels in red vests are composed of 1,500 committed, compassionate, and resilient social workers of the DSWD, who with the Lingkod Bayan servants in the Cordillera are all Kaagapay sa Pagbangon, Katuwang sa Bawat Hamon.
The Iyaman Award is given to the volunteers, donors, and partners of the DSWD. The theme for this year’s celebration is “DSWD@72: Kaagapay sa Pagbangon, Katuwang sa Bawat Hamon”. By Belinda D. Lucas, Sr.
