BESAO, Mountain Province – Mayor-elect Bryne O. Bacwaden assured his constituents of the sustained and enhanced delivery of basic services amidst the local government’s limited resources so that the programs, projects and activities of the government will be felt in the grassroots level.
Bacwaden, who is one of the incumbent councilors of the municipality, stated that one of the strategies that will be employed by his upcoming administration is to establish a solid network and linkage with both the government and private sectors so that Besao will be included as one of the areas where their respective programs, projects and activities will be implemented.
Further, he claimed that his administration will also be inclusive in the implementation of priority development projects so that no one and no area in the municipality will be left behind and whatever programs, projects and activities of the present administration which are noble will be pursued for the welfare of the greater majority of the populace.
Besao is a fifth-class municipality located in the western part of Mountain Province near the remote towns of Quirino, Ilocos Sur and Tubo, Abra.
Bacwaden rallied the people and those natives of the town who opted to stay in other areas in the country and overseas to support the new leadership by sharing their insights on how to work for the betterment of the locality, especially the vulnerable and marginalized sectors who are the ones who need the necessary interventions from concerned government and the local government to improve their living condition.
According to him, the administration of incumbent Mayor Johnson Bantog II was able to establish the momentum for the town’s growth and progress that is why it is incumbent upon the upcoming administration to introduce the timely innovations that will help in improving the current state of the locality aside from contributing in uplifting the living condition of the people.
Bacwaden claimed that the local government needs the support of everyone irregardless of political affiliation to be able to chart the overall direction of the municipality and to achieve the very purpose of growth and development that will contribute in spurring economic activities that will provide added sources of livelihood for the people in the future.
The incoming mayor vowed to work on the upliftment of the town-s agriculture and tourism sectors without compromising the ongoing efforts to sustain the preservation and protection of the environment so that the present generation will be able to pass on a good state of environment to the future generation of inhabitants.
Bacwaden added that the municipal government in close coordination with concerned government agencies will continue to improve the town’s-controlled dump facility to sustain the practice of effective and efficient solid waste management to prevent the occurrence of untoward incidents that might compromise the same in the future.
He emphasized that implementing an effective and efficient solid waste management program pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act will definitely contribute in the overall efforts of the local government to contain the disposal of waste by the increasing population so that the same will not be unscrupulously dumped that might have an impact on the town’s state of environment in the future.
