Chavit Singson, popularly known as “Manong Chavit,” visited Tabuk City today to unveil Banko ng Masa, his flagship initiative aimed at bringing universal banking access to Filipinos. Central to this project is VBank, an online banking platform available for free download on the Play Store and Apple Store.
Addressing the pressing financial inclusion gap, Singson highlighted that over 70% of Filipinos remain unbanked, while more than 90% lack access to debit or credit cards. Through Banko ng Masa, Singson promises zero down payment and 0% interest for opening bank accounts and obtaining credit cards, making banking accessible for everyone, especially the underserved.
In addition to this initiative, Singson also promoted his broader economic agenda, including the establishment of economic zones, such as one he plans to develop in Korea. He emphasized his long-standing push for such projects in Congress, lamenting the lack of support. “Matagal ko nang pino-propose ang ganito sa Kongreso pero wala akong makuhang suporta. Kaya kung sakaling mabigyan ako ng tsansa na maging senador, ito ang isa sa mga magiging proyekto ko,” Singson shared, outlining his vision for economic development if elected to the Senate.
