LUNA, Apayao—The National Irrigation Administration-Apayao Irrigation Management Office (NIA-AIMO) planted 487 seedlings in Cacalaggan and Lt. Balag, Pudtol on July 5, 2024.
Acting Division Manager Engineer Samuel C. Bahiwag oversaw the Nationwide Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity. This event complements the National Greening Program which was part of the NIA’s 61st founding anniversary commemoration.
This year’s theme for the tree planting event is “Sibol para sa Patubig ni bayaNIAn 2024.”
Seedlings of coffee, lanzones, and rambutan were planted.
Every NIA office across the country participates in this synchronized tree planting event, highlighting the importance of watersheds for preserving irrigation water vital to agriculture. NIA aims to support water supply sustainability and environmental preservation through tree planting.
