PUDTOL, Apayao – A new chapter in sustainable agriculture begins in Pudtol town as the National Irrigation Administration-Apayao Irrigation Management Office (NIA AIMO) launches another solar-powered pump irrigation project.
This Apayao Solar Pump 2 project aims to benefit 25 farmers by irrigating 41 hectares in Brgy. Doña Loreta.
On July 2, 2024, the project’s first step was taken with a geo-resistivity test conducted by the 11-16 Construction team. This test is crucial to determine the optimal locations for installing the solar-powered pumps, ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Acting Division Manager of NIA Apayao IMO Engr. Samuel Bahiwag, and Vice Governor Remy N. Albano were present to witness the test. Vice Governor Albano, who also serves as the President of the National Confederation of Irrigators’ Association and Pagtamdan Ti Apayao Confederation of Irrigators Association, expressed his enthusiasm for the project’s potential to improve local farming conditions.
