MANKAYAN, Benguet – A notorious carnapper who had been hiding from the long arms of the law was successfully arrested by combined detectives and police operatives in barangay Balili here recently.
Senior Superintendent Jimmy Catanes, regional officer of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) North Central Luzon Office, identified the arrested carnapper as Paulito Himlatan Cadap, who has a standing warrant of arrest for carnapping.
Cadap was arrested by joint elements of the CIDG led by Chief Inspector Allan D. Docyogen, Benguet Provincial Public Safety Company and Buguias Municipal Police Station by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Danilo P. Camacho of the province’s Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 64 based in Abatan, Buguias, Benguet for carnapping with a recommended bail bond of P180,000 for his temporary liberty.
Catanes disclosed Cadap is a member of a notorious Carnapping Group operating in Baguio, Benguet, Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya “The arrest of Cadap is a product of our intensified campaign against wanted persons involved in heinous crimes who had been hiding from the long arms of the law. WE want the family members and relatives of their victims to attain justice on the crimes committed against their love ones by the arrested individuals,”Catanes stressed.
He called on the public not to hesitate in visiting their office to seek assistance for the arrest of wanted individuals who committed crimes against them or their relatives so that they will be able to extend utmost assistance for the immediate resolution of long standing cases through the consolidated efforts of law enforcement agencies.
