LA TRINIDAD, Benguet February 11 – Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) arrested the leader of the Bela Drug Group in a buy-bust operation early dawn Tuesday along Palma Ville Subdivision, Barangay Puguis, here.
Gil Castro, PDEA-CAR assistant regional director, disclosed Revila Domingo Waclin a.k.a. Bela, 29, native of Buguias, Benguet and a resident of Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet was apprehended when she sold five heat-sealed, transparent plastic sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride to a PDEA-CAR operative who acted as a poseur-buyer.
“The illegal drugs weighing 15.2215 grams was worth P 53,275.25,” Castro said.
Aside from the dangerous drugs and buy-bust money, the PDEA-CAR official narrated two pouches and a plastic box were also confiscated from the suspect who was included in the Target List of Drug Personalities.
According to him, violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act No. 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” are being readied against Waclin who is temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR Regional Office.
Castro revealed the collared drug leader was previously arrested on August 21, 2014 for violation of R.A. 9165. She was able to post bail last January 20. Upon her release, Waclin resumed her nefarious activities.
He explained the arrest of the notorious drug personality will greatly weaken the sale of illegal drugs in the capital town and Buguias, Benguet.
In a related development, PDEA-CAR operatives arrested also arrested a construction worker in a buy-bust operation along Barangay Sto. Rosario Road, Baguio City.
Castro revealed Rudy Bogya Bag-ay also known as Ruben Bogya Mariano, 54, and a resident of Navy Base, Baguio City was apprehended when he sold a medium-sized and seven (7) small-sized, heat-sealed, transparent plastic sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P 7,000.00 to a PDEA agent who acted as a poseur-buyer.
Aside from the dangerous drugs and buy-bust money, he claimed several drug paraphernalia such as an improvised lamp, several pieces of transparent plastic sachets, four pieces of improvised plastic totters, two transparent plastic tubes and a pair of stainless steel scissors were confiscated from the suspect. A black mobile phone, electronic calculator and identification cards were also seized by the arresting officers.
Bag-ay will be facing cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act No. 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”. He is temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR Regional Office.
The arrest of Bay-ay was made barely a week when anti-narcotics agents implemented a search warrant at a rented residential unit along Marcos Highway, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
