BAGUIO CITY – City officials recently commended and congratulated the six students of Saint Louis University (LU) for being topnotchers in the recently concluded nurses licensure examination by placing fourth, eight, ninth and tenth.
In a resolution, local legislators stated that the achievements of the topnotchers brought honor and pride to the city which is yet another testament that the city is indeed the undisputed educational center of the north.
Earlier, the Professional Regulation Commission announced that 29,349 out of 34,534 examinees passed the nursing licensure examination given by the Board of Nursing in 19 testing centers around the country.
The results of the aforesaid examination were subsequently released after 14 working days from the last day of the examination that was held in Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagdain, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
Six SLU alumni were among the 29,349 successful examinees and did not just pass the nursing licensure examination but also ended up among the topnotchers.
The SLU alumni who landed among the topnotchers of the nursing licensure examination were Trisha Nicole Navalo Oller – 4th place; Paul Christer Ogoy Corpuz – 8th place; Kassandra Mavreen Casillo Ignacio – 9th place and Carmela Nuelle Mary Cerdan, Jade Angelo de Guzman Galito and Sophia Lorraine Acosta Songcuan – 10th place.
Copies of the approved resolution will be transmitted to the aforesaid topnotchers and the SLU administration for information, guidance, ready reference and further needed action. By Dexter A. See
