TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Office for City Agricultural Services (OfCAS) conducted recently an information caravan on its banner programs and services for farmer-clients.
Today’s participants came from barangays Laya West, Laya East, Cabaruan, Balong and San Julian
This project, according to OIC City Agriculturist Lim Ducyogen, aims to introduce the many initiatives of OfCAS to their target clientele while raising awareness and ensuring the broadest possible dissemination of information on significant agricultural-related programs.
Ducyogen is aware that sometimes information on programs relating to agriculture does not reach the intended audience and is occasionally improperly shared.
He advised the attendees—most of whom were farmers and barangay officials—to communicate the information accurately so that farmers would be aware of OfCAS’s services.
Rey-an A. Gallamoy talked at this round’s information caravan about the Rural Improvement Club, 4H, and P4MP. While agricultural insurance products and programs were discussed by Jeff Kadchao of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation-Region 02, Johnny A. Layao of the corn and cassava program, Rheyna Claire A. Ancheta of the high value crops program, Evelyn G. Orsit of the fishery, Perfecto B. Pagtud Jr. of data management, Emmanuel B. Pagtud of agricultural engineering program, and Michelle D. Lumas-i of rice program.
Participants spoke about their problems and concerns during the open forum in addition to the interventions and activities of OfCAS, which the office is also devoted to.
The same information caravan will be led by the OfCAS in other barangays at different times.
