LA TRINIDAD, Benguet May 11 – A 26-year old male Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from barangay Ambiong here is the latest confirmed Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) case not only in the municipality but also in the whole province bringing to 10 the number of COVID-19 cases in the locality since the implementation of the extended Luzonwide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) last March 17, 2020.
However, Mayor Romeo K. Salda said that there will probably be no lockdown in Barangay Ambiong because this latest confirmed case in the municipality proceeded to the triage at the Baguio Teachers Camp upon arrival from Metro Manila.
He stated that the municipal government is still investigating on what happened in the course of the said incident because how come that it took the triage at the Teachers Camp to discover the positive case instead of the same having been discovered in Metro Manila where he was supposed to have been subjected to swabbing and testing.
Mayor Salda claimed that contact tracers are now looking for the driver that ferried the OFW from Manila to the Baguio Teachers Camp for him to be subjected to the swab test following the confirmation that his passenger was a confirmed COVID-19 case.
At present, there are already 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the municipality and the province where 4 individuals were already able to recover from the deadly virus while 6 others are in stable condition in the different health facilities in the locality.
