The driver of an elf truck was killed while his passenger was hurt when the truck they were riding was hit by a landslide, causing it to fall in a ravine.
The fatality was identified as Rodrigo Navalta Maon of legal age.
The incident happened at about 11:45 AM of August 14, 2018 at Km 58 Cattubo, Atok, Benguet.
A text message from concerned citizen informed personnel of Atok MPS that a vehicle was hit by a landslide and fell into a ravine.
Investigation showed that the vehicle, an Isuzu elf bearing license plate no WLZ 158 driven by the victim, was traversing the road going towards Baguio City when it was hit by a landslide, which pushed the vehicle towards the ravine about 20 meters deep.
Concerned citizens were able retrieved the vehicle and lifeless body of Mr. Maon. The recued passenger was brought to a hospital in Buguias, Benguet for medication.
