PARACELIS, Mountain Province – A 42-year-old male was arrested by the law enforcement for illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs at his residence in Barangay Poblacion, Paracelis yesterday last November 7, 2023.
By virtue of tow search warrants, the operation was successfully conducted thru the combined efforts of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit–Mountain Province (MP) Provincial Office, MP Police Provincial Office thru its Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division–Police Regional Office Cordillera, First and Second Police Mobile Force Company of MP, and the Municipal Police Station of Paracelis.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of transparent sachets containing residues of white crystalline substance which is suspected to be Shabu weighing more or less 25 grams with an estimated market value of PhP 170,000, one caliber 22mm revolver (Seniorita), one caliber 22 rifle with scope and silencer, four pieces (pcs.) of 5.56 mm blank ammunitions, two pcs. of 45mm live ammunitions, six pcs. of 22mm live ammunitions, and one empty caliber 45 stainless steel magazine.
Moreover, other non-drug evidence such as lighters, improvised tooters, rolled and folded strips of aluminum foils were also seized.
The suspect was transported to Tabuk for drug testing and will be facing charges in violation of Sections 11 and 12 of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 also known as Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002 and Section 28 of RA 10591 otherwise known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Meanwhile, two barangay officials of barangay Poblacion and one media representative witnessed the operation. By MP Press Release
