TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Accounting Office reported only 15 from the 43 barangays in the city submitted complete financial transaction documents for 2023.
City Accountant Mary Grace Pocais recognized the conforming barangays to including Bado Dangwa, Balawag, Balong, Bulanao Norte, Bulo, Cabaruan, Cabaritan, Callaccad, Casigayan, Dagupan Weste, Dilag, Lanna, Masablang, New Tanglag, and Suyang.
According to Pocais, the City Accounting Office will handle financial transactions from the barangays before sending them on to the Commission on Audit.
The chief accountant also commended Brgy. Balawag for being the sole barangay to submit financial paperwork on schedule between January and April of 2024.
Barangays Bado Dangwa, Balong, Casigayan, Malin-awa, Masablang, New Tanglag, and Suyang also submitted their financial documents from January to March 2024.
Pocais urged other barangays to faithfully submit their reports to their office. She also reminded the Liga ng Mga Barangay President Andrew Cos-agon to set an example and encourage other barangays to do the same.
Barangays that have not submitted their financial documents may visit the City Accounting Office for guidance. By PIO Tabuk
