TABUK CITY, Kalinga– During the 4H year-end assessment conducted at Golden Berries Hotel and Convention Center today, the Office for the City Agricultural Services (OFCAS) recognized several clubs and members of the 4H.
According to Supervising Agriculturist Lim Ducyogen, the following clubs and members were recognized for their achievements and victories in previous contested events.
Furthermore, 4H coordinator Noriebelle Salibad stated that acknowledging the efforts of 4H members motivates them to strive harder for the organization’s success.
Giovanni Addatu (Nambucayan 4H), Michael Miller Picat (Cudal 4H), and Harvey Atas (Madopdop 4H) were the winners of the Young Farmers Challenge Fund: Kabataang Agribiz Program search for best model canvas (provincial level-top 7 out of 43 entries), and Giovanni Addatu and Michael Miller Picat were regional level qualifiers.
Nambucayan 4H (top 2 academic category), Dananao 4H (top 4 mental and physical health category), and Kafachang 4H received the National Excellent Achievers Award (top 5 environment and food security).
Appas 4H (second place-Regional Excellent Achievers Award (REAA)-economic and sustainable development category), Nambucayan 4H (first place-REAA education category), Dananao 4H (first place-REAA mental category), and Kafachang 4H were the regional 4H convention winners (first place- environment and food security category).
Dananao Ipil 4H, Appas 4H, Pacak Agbannawag 4H, Kafachang 4H, and Nambucayan 4H were the top five cash prize winners in the Tabuk City Search for Top Performing 4H Clubs.
Jerry Estino, a former 4H member and Gawad Saka awardee, encouraged the participants to continue their activities and add to their accomplishments in order to receive national recognition in the future.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Committee Chairman Atty. Dick Bal-o stated that the Sangguniang Panlungsod will continue to promote agriculture-related activities such as the 4H Club.
Bulanao Norte Chairman and ABC President Atty. Henry Tubban, Jr., on the other hand encouraged to ask fellow young members in their barangays to join 4H in order to demonstrate support for what the city government is doing for them, and because participating in youth activities is good.
City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, who was represented by his Executive Secretary Henry Gupaal, stressed the importance of the assessment in determining what needs to be enhanced or adopted for a more effective program implementation in the years ahead.
