CAMP BADO DANGWA, LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Anti-drug units of Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) continued its unwavering efforts to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs within the region which resulted in the seizure, recovery, and destruction of over 20.8-million worth of illegal drugs for the month of October.
During the period, police conducted 29 operations that resulted in the confiscation and seizure of illegal drugs with DDB value of P20,789,532. The contraband composed of 75,850 fully grown marijuana plants, 71,200 marijuana seedlings, 20,000 grams of marijuana stalks and 55.96 grams of Methamphetamine.
Moreover, 28 suspects were arrested during the period where 22 cases were filed in court while, a total of 11 drug personalities surrendered to authorities.
In the most recent implementation of a Search Warrant against Benjie A Alaban, 32, tricycle driver, currently residing in Atok, Flora, Apayao in the night of October 28, it resulted in Alaban”s apprehension together with a companion identified as Hominick Alawid Bacday, 30, farmer and a resident of Poblacion West, Flora, Apayao after three (3) pieces of a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu; one (1) pouch; and assorted drug paraphernalia was confiscated from them.
Police Regional Director PBGEN R’win SA Pagkalinawan stressed the continuous and strong determination of PROCOR to minimize, if not totally stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in Cordillera and further ordered the intensified anti-illegal drug campaign.
