LUNA, Apayao – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)-Cordillera upheld their commitment in empowering overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families in this town through a two-day free computer literacy training program.
The computer literacy program was held in Flora National High School on November 20-21, 2024 and was aimed at equipping the trainees with essential computer skills, enhancing their employability and digital literacy.
Topics covered by the training included the following:
*Basic computer operations: wherein participants learned to navigate the computer interface, used the mouse and keyboard, and performed basic tasks like opening files and folders.
*Internet basics: which include lessons on browsing the internet, using search engines, and accessing online resources.
*Microsoft Office Suite: participants were introduced to essential applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, gaining skills in creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
*Social media and online communication: It highlighted the importance of online communication and provided guidance on using popular social media platforms.
The computer literacy training program is part of the agency’s broader efforts to empower OFWs and their families by providing them with the skills and resources they need to thrive in the digital age.
