LUBUAGAN, Kalinga – Combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents successfully discovered more than P1.1 million worth of marijuana bricks that were abandoned along the national road at barangay Dangoy, here, recently.
Police authorities stated that joint personnel of Lubugan Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Provincial Intelligence Unit, immediately responded after receiving a call from a concerned citizen about suspicious bags left along the national road in Sitio Balangabang.
Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain approximately 12 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves wrapped in plastic with a Standard Drug Price of P1,440,000.00. The marijuana was inventoried on-site in the presence of DOJ representative Mr. Kelvin Wesh B. Owek and Barangay Kagawad Shirley O. Songcuan.
Following the inventory, the seized drugs were transported to the Lubuagan MPS for documentation before being handed over to the Kalinga Provincial Forensic Unit.
The Lubuagan MPS also launched follow-up investigations to identify the individuals who left the said illegal drugs. By Dexter A. See
