KIBUNGAN, Benguet November 12 – More than P1.38 million worth of marijuana plants were destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a three-day marijuana eradication operation in nine plantation sites at sitios Kalipayan, Lokok and Tableo, barangay Badeo here.
Superintendent Cherry Fajardo, public information officer of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera, said the uprooted marijuana plants were burned on site by the operating troops.
Badeo is one of the identified marijuana plantation areas because of its remoteness and marijuana cultivators could easily predict the presence of law enforcers conducting the marijuana eradication operation.
