KIBUGAN, Benguet – More than P1.4 million worth of marijuana were uprooted and destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents of the Benguet Provincial Police Office during an intensified marijuana eradication operation at sitio Kilong, barangay Poblacion, here, Sunday.
Based on the reports submitted to the PRO Cordillera Regional Director, PBGen. David K Peredo, Jr, the operation conducted by the joint operatives of Kibungan Municipal Police Station, Benguet PPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, and PDEA- CAR in Sitio Kilong, Brgy. Poblacion resulted in the discovery of more or less 12,000 grams of dried marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of Php1,440,000.00.
The discovered dried marijuana plants were documented and burned onsite, while enough samples were taken to the Regional Forensic Unit- Cordillera.
Further, the police officers continue to engage with the barangay to encourage community members to provide information on possible cultivators and continue supporting the PNP’s anti-illegal drugs campaign. By Dexter A. See
