KIBUNGAN, Benguet – Some one million worth of marijuana were successfully destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during the conduct of anti-marijuana eradication operations at sitio Tudag, barangay Tacadang, here, Sunday.
Police authorities stated that some 8,380.00 grams of dried marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of P1,005,600.00 were discovered at a communal forest in Sitio Tudag, barangay Tacadang, Kibungan.
The operation was successful through the efforts of the joint operatives of 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company, Kibungan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Benguet Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-CAR.
All discovered marijuana plants were documented and incinerated on-site to prevent replanting, with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR.
Operatives are also conducting continuing investigations to locate other plantation sites in nearby areas and apprehend the cultivators. By Dexter A. See
