BAKUN, Benguet – More than P1 million worth of fully-grown marijuana plants were successfully destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a marijuana eradication operation in barangay Kayapa, here, recently.
Reports from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) of PRO CAR revealed that three marijuana plantation sites, planted with 5,100 fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of P1,020,000.00, were discovered and dismantled in barangay Kayapa, Bakun.
The said marijuana eradication operation was successfully launched by the joint forces of RPDEU PRO CAR and Bakun Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-CAR.
All discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and incinerated on-site, with sufficient samples collected for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR.
Meanwhile, investigations are actively underway to locate other marijuana plantation sites in surrounding areas and to apprehend the individuals responsible for the cultivation of these illicit plants.
