BAKUN, Benguet – Combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents successfully destroyed more than P100,000 worth of marijuana plats in a marijuana plantation site at barangay Kayapa, here, Saturday.
Police authorities stated that joint operatives of Bakun Municipal Police Station, Benguet Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit – 14, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera conducted the operation at Sitio Caang.
This operation resulted in the discovery of a 100-square-meter plantation site containing 500 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with a Standard Drug Price of P100,000.00.
Subsequently, the said uprooted marijuana plants were documented and burned onsite, while enough samples were taken for submission to RFU-Cordillera for qualitative testing.
The Cabalyero cops successful eradication operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies in Benguet and aims to combat illegal drug activities and protect the community from the harmful effects of drug use. By Dexter A. See
