LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – More than P110 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated and destroyed while four drug suspects were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a week-long aggressive anti-illegal drug operations in the different parts of the Cordillera from September 23-29, 2024.
During the week, PRO-CAR conducted 18 anti-illegal drug operations across the provinces of Benguet, Kalinga, and Mountain Province which resulted in the confiscation of 74,750 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants, 2,500 pieces of marijuana seedlings, 692,000.00 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 5.00 grams of suspected shabu, with an overall value of P110,224,000.00.
The most significant operations took place in Mountain Province, where the Inayan Cops confiscated marijuana plants valued at P72,500,000.00 and in Kalinga, where the Lumin-awa Cops seized illegal drugs worth P35,174,000.00 and arrested four drug personalities.
Further, in Benguet, the Cabalyero Cops also saw significant success with the seizure of P2,550,000.00 worth of marijuana plants.
The intensified efforts of PRO-CAR against the illegal drug trade demonstrate its dedication to keeping the Cordillera community safe. These operations have disrupted drug networks and sent a clear warning to those involved to stop their illegal activities. By Dexter A. See
