CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Some P2.5 million worth of marijuana plants were successfully destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during a recent marijuana eradication operation in sitios Balisaosao and Nakmeng, barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet.
Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Azurin, Jr., Benguet provincial director, said the government forces uprooted and burned on site 12,000 fully grown marijuana plants and 7,500 marijuana seedlings worth P2,572,000.00 planted in an approximate area of 2,133 square meters in the first day of operation.
Despite having difficulty of detecting marijuana plantation sites due to the mountainous and rugged terrains leading to the area, the operatives still manage to wipe out illegal drugs in the PRO-Cordillera.
