Kibungan, Benguet – Combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents successfully destroyed more than P3.7 million worth of marijuana plants in separate plantation sites during the implementation of a one-day aggressive anti-marijuana eradication operation held Sunday.
In Kibungan, 4,750 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMP) with a total Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P950,000.00 planted in 950 square-meter plantation sites were discovered by the joint operatives from Kibungan Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU-14) and Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and Land Transport Interdiction Unit (LTIU) of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Benguet in Sitio Basi and Sitio Bagew of Barangay Tacadang.
Further, in Bakun, 1,620-square meter plantation sites planted with 12,800 pieces of FGMP and 7,000 pieces of marijuana seedlings with an SDP of P2,840,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives from the Bakun MPS, PIU, PDEU of Benguet PPO, RIU-14, LTIU of PDEA-Benguet in Sitio Maliteng, Barangay Sinacbat.
The said discovered marijuana plants were documented and burned on-site while enough samples were brought for submission to Regional Forensic Unit-CAR. By Dexter A. See
