TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents successfully destroyed and burned more than P4.4 million worth of marijuana plants in various plantation sites in Tinglayan town last Sunday.
In Tabuk City, a total of 12,000 pieces of Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P2,400,000.00 were discovered by joint operatives of the 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Tabuk City Police Station, and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) following a marijuana eradication operation conducted in Barangay Nambaran.
Simultaneously, in Tinglayan, another 10,000 pieces of FGMJP with an SDP of P2,000,000.00 were discovered by joint operatives of Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, PDEU, and the 1st and 2nd Kalinga PMFC in Barangay Tulgao East.
All the discovered marijuana plants were burned onsite to ensure their destruction, while samples were collected and sent to the Regional Forensic Unit-Cordillera for further qualitative analysis.
The Kalinga cops remains committed to intensifying its efforts to locate additional marijuana cultivation sites and apprehend those responsible for these illegal activities. By Dexter A. See
