Tinglayan, Kalinga – More than P4.4 million worth of marijuana were successfully destroyed while two drug suspects were arrested by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the different parts of the province over the weekend.
In Tinglayan, a marijuana eradication operation conducted by the joint operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Provincial Intelligence Unit, Tinglayan Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and PDEA-Kalinga resulted in the discovery of a total of 12,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P2,400,000.00 in barangay Loccong.
Meanwhile, in Tabuk City, a search warrant implemented by the joint operatives of Tabuk City Police Station, 1st Kalinga PMFC, PDEU, Regional Intelligence Division (RID), led to the arrest of a 62-year-old male listed as a Street Level Individual after the discovery of suspected shabu weighing more or less (MOL) 300 grams with an SDP of P2,040,000.00; 55 ml marijuana oil with an SDP of P12,100.00; one 5.56mm M16A1 COLT AR15 containing 13 live ammunitions; one magazine for 5.56mm with 8 live ammunitions; seven long magazines for 5.56mm; and 3 boxes containing a total of 90 live ammunitions for 5.56mm, from his residence in Brgy. Nambaran.
Moreover, another search warrant also implemented in Tabuk City by the same operatives resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old male listed as a Street Level Individual after operatives found and confiscated suspected shabu weighing MOL 5 grams with an SDP of P34,000.00; one AR15 COLT 5.56 rifle; and a total of 87 live ammunition for 5.56mm in his residence in Brgy. Nambaran.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence have been turned over to Tabuk CPS for documentation and proper disposition, while charges for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them. By Dexter A. See
