FLORA, Apayao – A total of 334 members from various Irrigators’ Associations in the province of Apayao received their wages thru the payout of P4,038,404.00, which is part of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa mga Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) 3rd Tranche this August 20, 2024.
The payout was held at the Dr. Efren U. De San Jose Gymnasium, Poblacion East, Flora, Apayao to irrigators of Marimay SRIP’s Sunrise ti Balluyan IA, Marimay Lat. A of Marians IA, Brgy. Allig FIA, and members of WAAIS and Tulbek ti Rang-ay Irrigators Association.
Other beneficiaries are from the Communal Irrigation System groups including Nabuangan Cupiz IA, Naganakan Maclit FIA, Zumigui Capapayaan IA, Purok Pag-asap Lappa FIA, Sta. Filomena IA, Nueva Kapupugan IA, Anninipan Kapayanan, PADMA FIA, Sitio Panawagan IA, and Isla ti Bukkol IA.
The “TUPAD Towards Better Irrigation Service” program is a collaboration between DOLE, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), and the Irrigators’ Associations and the initiative continues to be an essential support mechanism for the agricultural sector in Apayao.
The payout was attended by key officials including Engr. Samuel C. Bahiwag, Acting Division Manager of NIA AIMO, Vice Governor and National Confederation President of Irrigators Association Remy N. Albano, Vice Mayor of Flora Hon. Joefrey Blas, Ms. Marilou Valdez from the Office of the Municipal Mayor, Ms. Wilhelmina Quilang from the Office of the Vice President, Ms. Jovie Cristobal representing the office of the Congresswoman, and Mr. Marcelo Saleo-an Jr., DOLE Focal Person.
