LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – More than P900,000 worth of marijuana plants were successfully destroyed by combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents during the implementation of separate anti-illegal drug operations in Kalinga and Benguet Sunday.
In Kalinga, approximately 3,000 pieces of FGMJP with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P600,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of 1st and 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Companies, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Tinglayan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)- Kalinga in Barangay Ngibat, Tinglayan.
Further, in Benguet, 1,500 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants with a standard drug price of P300,000.00 were discovered by the joint operatives of Kibungan MPS, PIU and PDEU of Benguet PPO, Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-CAR, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and PDEA-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan.
Following thorough documentation, all discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and incinerated on-site, with sufficient samples taken for submission to the Regional Forensic Unit-CAR.
