TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The delivery of quality health care services in this thriving component city will get a big boost following the projected opening of the 100-bed city-owned hospital by the first quarter of next year that will make the city a center for health care management in the central Cordillera and parts of the Cagayan Valley.
Mayor Darwin C. Estran֮ero said that the hospital will be a state-of-the-art health facility complete with modern medical equipment complimented by specialists from Cagayan Valley, Kalinga and the Cordillera to bring quality health care services closer to the people not only from the city but also from the whole province and other neighboring provinces of Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Isabela, Cagayan and Apayao.
“We want to make quality health care services accessible to our people so that they will not be burdened in going outside Tabuk just to be able to be treated with their illnesses. We will also make sure that said services will be affordable to our people through the establishment of the Malasakit center in the facility,” Mayor Estran֮ero stressed.
He already directed the contractor of the hospital project to work double time to catch up with the timetable to allow the local government to procure the necessary modern medical equipment that will be used in the delivery of quality health care services.
The mayor added that the hospital rooms, facilities and even its environs will have a good ambiance to ensure that individuals seeking medical attention from the facility and the specialists will get well soon for them to remain productive residents of their respective communities inside and outside the city.
The city-owned state-of-the-art hospital is being built within a portion of a 5-hectare property that was identified by the local government to be used for institutional purposes such as the proposed up of sports complex and a possible 8,000- seat convention center that will make the city a convention haven in the north.
According to him, specialists from the various public and private health facilities in Tuguegarao City assured him that they will ensure their availability to be visiting consultants of the city-owned hospital aside from holding clinics and doing medical procedures in the city to ensure that their patients will not have a difficult time reaching them for proper medical attention.
Estran֮ero underscored the importance of the local government making basic services such as health care and other social services readily available to the people to lessen their burden in having to spend long hours of travel just to be able to avail of their desired services that is why the city is doing its best to make the said services right at the reach of the residents and their beneficiaries.
Tabuk opened the first phase of its modern public market that will surely contribute in enticing investors to do business in this business-friendly city that will be followed up by the upcoming operation of the city-owned hospital by the first quarter of next year, aside from the interest being shown by various businessmen who have established businesses around the country for them to put up their branches and expansions in strategic areas around the thriving city.
